In NSW the Community Housing Providers take 100% of the CRA from their Tenants, this was not always the case and I have been told that originally it was to be 35% but just changed to the 100%…..my questions is “Where does this money go?” There is very little Social Housing being built in Sydney & I cannot figure this out at all. I have asked and been told it goes in maintenance but to be honest most of the ex PH houses around here handed to CHPs are almost falling down with lack of care from Housing NSW, they also take a percentage of your Power Supplement & 18 year olds pay rent as well. In an ideal world the CRA would go towards building more Social Housing I would think, maybe I am dreaming! 🙂
