There is a Facebook Page that deals with history in my area of Ryde and yesterday they posted photographs from 1987 of the Ivanhoe Estate in Sydney as it was being built. This very much seems to place the difference between PH & CHPs, the “Duty of Care” aspect seems to be very low in Community Housing and they are prone to advertise how wonderful they are without doing the hard work to protect people. 2022 is shaping up already to be difficult here in NSW, we are in “let it rip” mode which has put vulnerable Seniors in a difficult space! So hard to get tested for COVID in my area, NO RAT tests available anywhere, supermarket shelves are empty & local Chemist has NO Panadol on the shelves. Happy to report that this Lady has finally moved into a safe place where she does not have to live in fear. Finally they found her a “Head Lease” property but it took a lot of arguments and stress…..happy to say that she can finally live peacefully though and is so happy!

On September 2nd I have been invited to attend the REDWatch Meeting with the Tenants of Waterloo Public Housing Estate that is currently being sold off and I have been invited to talk to them about Community Housing, the differences and what they can expect.
