Hi Kobi! Great idea. I’ve added that link to the header menu. And you’ll see down the bottom now we also have links to ‘Our Community’ and recent replies.
Yes that’s a good idea, I’ve moved the ‘personal’ updates we had made so far into the NASH group.
But you’ll see…[Read more]
The so called ‘invisible homeless’ – often older people who are couch surfing, living in cars, staying in unsafe accomodation – are no longer so invisible. After years of campaigning and pressure on politicians, we are making headlines around the country.
Lets make this a place to share and discuss news stories that focus on older peoples…[Read more]

Who are the politicians that are working on this issue? Lets share links to what they are doing and talk about how to bring them all together.
The Victorian Government has committed 5.3 billion dollars to a so called ‘Big Housing Build’. Its a really welcome investment, however all of the money is going towards ‘affordable’ housing through inclusionary zoning, and to Community Housing.
We’ve heard a lot about the potential for ‘Tiny Houses’. A more affordable style of living that could allow people without the money for a permanent, large house, to build a smaller place and park it on someones land. We’ve put a bunch of work into making it easy to use and looking nice. What do you think about the design?
But there are definitely some things we can improve on to make it work better. We want to add more categories so we can sort things by regions, issues, and other…[Read more]
We started a topic to talk about sharehousing as a potential solution for some older people. But for those of us who live in sharehouses, or did in our younger days, we’ve all had those housemate from hell experiences, that make it seem like a questionable choice…
What do you think? Lets use this topic to swap war-stories from our time living…[Read more]
We are always hearing from people looking for someone older to rent a room in their house. And sharehousing could be a great solution – sharing space, rent, and bills, can make things a lot more affordable.
But sometimes people have pretty terrible experiences in sharehouse. They may be less safe, and usually, sharehousing means renting off a…[Read more]
